Experience grown over generations
We have been working with colored gemstones for over 100 years. Over generations, close and long-standing relationships have been forged with our partners and suppliers. We accompany many of our rough stones from their origin, through selection and purchasing, to cutting in our own lapidary.
Our team of around 35 employees combines experience in the gemstone trade with expert craftsmanship. We provide personal consultation to jewelers, goldsmiths, designers, and jewelry manufacturers regarding our product range, custom cuts, and current developments in the colored gemstone market.
From our location in Idar-Oberstein, we work with customers in Germany, Europe, Asia, and the USA. Personally on-site, at international trade fairs and sales trips, as well as via our online shop.

A century of company history
Our Milestones
Carl Friedrich Arnoldi – Founder
Founding of the gemstone cutting workshop. 1920 acquisition of the property in Idar-Oberstein, where the company was based for nearly 100 years.
Expansion to ten employees
Specializing in aquamarines and tourmalines.
Erwin Arnoldi is beginning his apprenticeship
Carl's son Erwin joins the company as an apprentice.
Destruction of the estate
On November 25, 1944, three bombs fall on Idar. One completely destroys the Arnoldi estate. After the war, the company must be completely rebuilt.
Erwin Arnoldi – 2nd generation
Erwin Arnoldi takes over the company and begins the arduous reconstruction process with his father in 1945. It is not until 1948 that production can resume – initially with one employee, and later with two.
38 employees – growth
Production is growing steadily. In 1961, another factory building is constructed: new exhibition, production, and office spaces across three floors.
Hubert Arnoldi – 3rd Generation
Hubert Arnoldi, Carl's grandson, joins the company and begins his apprenticeship as a gemstone cutter.
Master craftsman's examination
Hubert Arnoldi passes his master craftsman's examination as a gemstone cutter.
Management
Hubert and René Arnoldi are taking over the management together with their mother, Geneviève Arnoldi.
Carl-Philip Arnoldi – 4th Generation
Carl-Philip Arnoldi, Carl's great-grandson, completes his training as a gemstone cutter and begins studies in medium-sized enterprise management.
HC Arnoldi is emerging
Brothers Hubert and René Arnoldi are going their separate ways. Hubert Arnoldi and his son Carl-Philip are founding the new company HC Arnoldi.
Isaline Arnoldi – 4th generation
Great-granddaughter Isaline Arnoldi joins the company after completing her Master's degree in Media and Communication Management.
New company building & online shop
We move into our newly built company building in Kirschweiler, with a modern cutting workshop, new workplaces and more room for our growing team. At the same time, we launch our own B2B online shop.
Power of attorney Carl-Philip
Carl Philip Arnoldi has been granted commercial power of attorney, thereby assuming further responsibility in the management of HC Arnoldi.

Our online shop, gemstone trade and in-house cutting workshop come together under the HC Arnoldi brand, with a team of around 35 employees.
